Installation Considerations
Installation of V10 Softdial Contact Center™ has a number of changes from previous versions. One of the key differences as far as installation is concerned is the introduction of Multi-Tenancy. This means that you can run multiple virtual tenant instances of Softdial Campaign Manager™ server, Softdial Reporter™ server and Call Recording server on the same physical SCC server. These tenant instances can be configured during installation or after installation using the tenant provisioning tool which can be found in the C:\<root>\Tools folder.
From V10.2 - now allows dynamic provisioning and configuration of tenants and tenant services.
Softdial Contact Center™ Version 10 is now natively multi-tenant but users who do not have any requirement for multi-tenancy initially can install the V10 software to run in simulated single tenant mode.
This topic is designed to help users with
- upgrading their existing V9 installation to version 10, or
- making a fresh installation of V10 software.
It explains some of the differences you will find in using V10 compared to V9, such as the change from Reporter SQL Processor based reports to the new Publisher based reports introduced with V10.

Whether you choose to upgrade your existing V9 software or make a fresh installation will depend on how you plan to use the software immediately after installation.
- Upgrade - If you intend to continue using Softdial Contact Center™ in the same or similar way for some time after the update, and you need to retain the campaign information that you have been using with V9, then you should follow the upgrade path. You can always configure features such as multi-tenancy later as the need arises. Following the upgrade path will copy your old V9 configuration into a default tenant instance and save all your campaign parameter data.
- Fresh - If you want to start using the Multi-Tenancy features immediately and you don't have any campaign data you need to preserve, you should select the Fresh Install option.
Implications of multi-tenancy at installation time
Multi-Tenancy in V10 is implemented by allowing the user to set up multiple instances of Softdial Campaign Manager™ and Softdial Reporter™ ODBC connections (one of each for each tenant) at install time. When you are installing the software, you will be prompted to select whether you want to upgrade or make a fresh installation.
