Localization

The applications available via the Softdial Contact Center™ (SCC) web login page are available by default in several languages, as shown in Fig. 1.

Each component reads its UI from several javascript files. Other languages may be added by creating a new set of files, as detailed below.

To add a new set of language files:

  1. Copy the folder <SCC Web Server>\www\softdial\lib\locale\en
  2. Paste in the same location
  3. Give the new folder a 2 character name indicating the new language (e.g. de for German, or fa for Farsi)

For Softdial Campaign Manager™
Campaign Manager currently uses a legacy set of files, located at <SCC Web Server>\www\softdial\lib\i18n\en. If it is required in the new language, repeat the steps above with this folder.

The relevant javascript files for each component are detailed below.

  1. Consulting the table above, open each file you would like translated in a text editor.
  2. For each name:'value' pair, translate value into the required language, e.g. maximize: 'Maximize' becomes maximize: 'Maximieren'
  3. Save the file
  1.  Open the following files in a text editor:
    • <SCC Web Server>\www\softdial\User\modern\app.js
    • <SCC Web Server>\www\softdial\User\classic\app.js
  2. In each file, find the string 'data:[['.
  3. In the list of available languages that follows, add a ['name','value'], pair, where
    • name - the name of the language as it should appear in the list on the SCC web login page. See Fig. 1
    • value - the 2 character name from 1) iii. above

    e.g. ['Deutsch','de'],

  4. Save each file

The new language will then be available for selection on (re)loading the SCC web login page, and the available web apps will then use the new language files for their UI.
